Marmalade Game Studio has released a new expansion for their digital board game, Ticket to Ride: Legendary Asia. This is the fourth major expansion for the popular game, and it offers players a chance to explore the stunning landscapes of Asia by train. If you haven't tried Ticket to Ride yet, this expansion might just be the perfect introduction.

Legendary Asia: A Journey Across Asia

This expansion introduces players to two new characters: Wang Ling, a divine opera singer, and Lê Chinh, a seasoned artisan with extensive knowledge of Asia. These characters bring with them some truly impressive locomotives: the Emperor, the Mountain Maiden, and the luxurious Silk Zephyr carriage. For a more spiritual journey, there's even the Pagoda Pilgrim carriage.

Strategic gameplay remains central to Legendary Asia, with the addition of a new bonus: the Asian Explorer Bonus. This bonus rewards players for creating the longest routes and connecting the most cities. However, only the first visit to each city counts towards the score, adding a layer of strategic depth to route planning. Efficient route planning is key; no loops or unnecessary detours allowed!

A Glimpse into History

The game's map is set in 1913, offering a unique historical perspective. This includes a unified Korea and a geographically altered India, incorporating its western provinces into Bangladesh. Kuwait is shown as part of Iraq, and Africa is depicted without defined borders, creating an interesting historical and geographical context for the gameplay.
