System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster Coming to Nintendo Switch

Nightdive Studios has exciting news for fans of the iconic 1999 sci-fi horror action RPG, System Shock 2. Originally announced as System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, the game has been rebranded to System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and is now set to launch on the Nintendo Switch as well.

The highly anticipated System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster is scheduled for release on multiple platforms, including Windows PC via Steam and GOG, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. Players awaken from cryo-sleep aboard the FTL ship Von Braun, only to find themselves in a nightmare scenario. Hybrid mutants and deadly robots roam the ship's corridors, and the cries of the remaining crew echo through the cold, metallic halls. The rogue AI, SHODAN, has seized control and is bent on the destruction of humanity. Players must navigate the derelict ship, exploring deck by deck to uncover the chilling fate of the Von Braun and its crew, all while attempting to thwart SHODAN's malevolent plans.

Gamers won't have to wait long to learn more about the release. Nightdive Studios has confirmed that a release date for System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will be unveiled during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025, accompanied by a new trailer. This event promises to give fans a deeper look into what to expect from this much-anticipated remaster.
