Spider-Man Animated Series on Disney+ Already Renewed for Seasons 2 and 3

Marvel's animated "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" already has a secured future with seasons 2 and 3 greenlit. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios head of streaming, television, and animation, recently revealed that scripts for Season 2 are complete, and half the animatics are finished, even before Season 1 premieres on January 29th. Season 3 is also officially in development.

Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm for the series and the character development, stating that the payoff from the groundwork laid in Season 1 will become increasingly apparent in subsequent seasons. He will be meeting with lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell in a few weeks to discuss the pitch for Season 3. However, release dates for either Season 2 or 3 remain unannounced.

The series chronicles Peter Parker's freshman year of high school as he develops his superpowers. Whether subsequent seasons will follow Peter chronologically through his high school years or explore other aspects of his freshman year remains to be seen.
