Tomnoki Studio's Sphere Defense is a new tower defense game for Android, drawing inspiration from the timeless geoDefense by David Whatley. The developer, a longtime fan of geoDefense, aimed to recreate its elegantly simple yet challenging gameplay.

The Story

Earth, or "The Sphere," faces imminent destruction from alien invaders. Humanity, forced underground, frantically develops new technology to fight back. After years of setbacks, humanity finally amasses sufficient firepower to launch a counteroffensive, and you're at the helm, tasked with saving the planet.

Gameplay

Sphere Defense faithfully adheres to the classic tower defense formula. You deploy various units, each with unique strengths, to repel waves of enemies. Successful engagements reward you with resources to expand and upgrade your defenses. Higher difficulty levels demand greater strategic thinking.

The game offers three difficulty settings: easy, normal, and hard, each with 10 stages. Expect each stage to last between 5 and 15 minutes. See the game in action:

A Diverse Arsenal

Sphere Defense features seven distinct unit types, allowing for strategic combinations. Offensive units include the Standard Attack Turret (single-target), the Area Attack Turret (area-of-effect), and the Piercing Attack Turret (effective against tightly grouped enemies).

Support units, such as the Cooling Turret and Incendiary Turret, enhance the effectiveness of your attack units. Specialized support/attack units like the Fixed-Point Attack Unit (precise missile strikes) and the Linear Attack Unit (satellite laser) add further tactical depth.
