However, upcoming releases like the Minecraft movie and the Super Mario Bros. sequel might challenge this record.

Despite the considerable gap, the success of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is undeniable, a significant win for Paramount Pictures, which has already greenlit Sonic 4.
