Smite 2 Free-to-Play Launch Date Announced Alongside New Character

Smite 2's Open Beta Launches January 14th with Aladdin and More!

Get ready, Smite fans! Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, is launching its free-to-play open beta on January 14th, 2025. This marks a significant milestone for the Unreal Engine 5-powered game, which entered Alpha in 2024.

This open beta isn't just about access; it's a substantial content drop. Alongside the launch, players will meet Aladdin, the first God from the Tales of Arabia pantheon. Aladdin is classified as a Magical Assassin and Jungler, boasting unique abilities like wall-running and enemy-trapping.

But that's not all. The beta will also feature the return of beloved Gods from the original Smite, including Mulan, Geb, Ullr, and Agni, each with updated skill sets. Expect a roster nearing 50 Gods by January 2025, a significant expansion from the initial 14 available during Alpha.

Beyond the Gods, Smite 2's open beta introduces exciting new game modes:

• Joust (3v3): An Arthurian-themed map with teleporters and stealth grass for strategic gameplay.
• Duel (1v1): Utilizing the same map as Joust, offering intense one-on-one combat.

The innovative "Aspects" system will also be available, allowing players to modify God builds for powerful, alternative playstyles. For instance, Athena will sacrifice her ally-shielding teleport for a foe-weakening one. Twenty Gods will initially feature Aspects, with more to come.

Quality-of-life improvements are also a key focus, including:
