The Last of Us' TV adaptation has been a massive hit, securing a third season even before the second one began. But what about a fourth season? Showrunner Craig Mazin has made it clear that a fourth season is likely essential to fully tell the story from the two Naughty Dog video games.

In a recent interview with Collider, Mazin explained that trying to wrap up the entire narrative in just Season 3 would be too ambitious, stating that it "would take forever." He acknowledged that Season 3 might be longer than Season 2, but emphasized that "there’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season."

Mazin expressed optimism about the show's future, saying, "Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
