Project R.I.S.E.: Supercell

Supercell, the Finnish game developer, has made a surprising announcement. Following the cancellation of their RPG, Clash Heroes, they've revealed a new project: Project R.I.S.E. This isn't simply a relaunch; it's a complete overhaul.

The Inside Scoop

Clash Heroes is officially discontinued. Confirming earlier rumors, Supercell has shelved the title, much like Clash Mini before it. However, the Clash universe isn't losing this concept entirely. Project R.I.S.E. will be a reimagining, a social action RPG roguelite.

Supercell's announcement video features game lead Julien Le Cadre, who stated directly, "Clash Heroes is dead. That's the bad news," he explained. "The good news is that Project R.I.S.E. is still a Clash game, and even better news: it's now a multiplayer-focused action RPG."

For more details, watch the official announcement video:

Project R.I.S.E. shares DNA with Clash Heroes but is a distinct entity. It's a social action RPG roguelite built from the ground up.

Gameplay involves three-player teams exploring "The Tower," a mysterious location. Each playthrough focuses on a different floor, with the objective being to ascend as high as possible. Unlike its predecessor, Project R.I.S.E. emphasizes cooperative gameplay with a diverse roster of characters, abandoning the solo PvE dungeon focus.

Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration is open on the official website for a chance to participate.
