Pokémon Sleep Development Transitioned to Pokémon Works

The Pokémon Company's subsidiary, Pokémon Works, will assume responsibility for the development and future updates of Pokémon Sleep, previously managed by Select Button.

From Select Button to Pokémon Works

This transition follows the establishment of Pokémon Works in March 2024. An in-app announcement (via machine translation) confirmed the gradual shift of development and operational responsibilities from Select Button to Pokémon Works. The announcement, initially appearing in the Japanese version of the app, hasn't yet surfaced in the global version's news section.

Pokémon Works, a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd., is based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, sharing proximity with ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Their representative director, Takuya Iwasaki, highlighted past contributions to Pokémon HOME and expressed a vision to make the Pokémon experience more tangible and enjoyable for all. The specific implementation of this vision within Pokémon Sleep remains to be seen. The impact of this change on the global version of Pokémon Sleep is currently unclear.
