The Pokémon Company has addressed the significant shortages of its upcoming Prismatic Evolutions expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). In a statement, the company acknowledged the widespread supply issues and thanked fans for their patience. This marks the first public acknowledgment of the problem.

Originally announced in early November 2024, with pre-orders opening shortly after, Prismatic Evolutions was slated for a January 17th, 2025 international release. However, substantial shortages have impacted global availability, including the United States. Following considerable fan outcry on social media, The Pokémon Company confirmed that reprints are currently underway and will be distributed to licensed vendors as soon as possible. While the company cited "high demand" as the cause, they refrained from commenting on speculation regarding scalping.

Reprint Timeline and Future Releases:

The company stated that reprints are in production and will soon reach distributors, though a specific release date wasn't provided. Further alleviating concerns, The Pokémon Company announced additional Prismatic Evolutions products are planned for release in the coming months, as previously hinted at in the November 2024 announcement. These include:

• A Mini Tin and Surprise Box (February 7th, 2025)
• A Booster Bundle (March 7th, 2025)
• An Accessory Pouch Special Collection (April 25th, 2025)
• A Super-Premium Collection (May 16th, 2025)
• A Premium Figure Collection (September 26th, 2025)

Players can also obtain Prismatic Evolutions cards starting January 16th, 2025, through the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game's Battle Pass. The Pokémon Company reiterated its commitment to resolving the supply issues and ensuring fans have access to the highly anticipated expansion.
