Best Decks in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Effective deck building is crucial beyond simply knowing strong cards. Here are the top decks:

S-Tier Decks

Gyarados Ex/Greninja Combo

This deck utilizes a synergistic strategy. The core includes: Froakie x2, Frogadier x2, Greninja x2, Druddigon x2, Magikarp x2, Gyarados Ex x2, Misty x2, Leaf x2, Professor’s Research x2, Poke Ball x2. Druddigon, with its 100 HP, acts as a sturdy defender and inflicts consistent chip damage without energy investment. Simultaneously, Greninja delivers additional chip damage and serves as a primary attacker when needed. Finally, Gyarados Ex finishes opponents weakened by the chip damage strategy.

Pikachu Ex

Currently the top deck, Pikachu Ex boasts speed and aggression. The key cards are: Pikachu Ex x2, Zapdos Ex x2, Blitzle x2, Zebstrika x2, Poke Ball x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Giovanni x2. Pikachu Ex's 90 damage for two Energy is incredibly efficient. Adding Voltorb and Electrode provides extra offensive options, with Electrode's free retreat being particularly valuable.

Raichu Surge

A powerful alternative to the main Pikachu Ex deck, Raichu Surge offers surprise bursts of damage. The deck includes: Pikachu Ex x2, Pikachu x2, Raichu x2, Zapdos Ex x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Poke Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Lt. Surge x2. While Raichu's energy discard can be a drawback, Lt. Surge mitigates this effectively. Zapdos Ex provides a reliable secondary attacker, and X Speed facilitates strategic retreats.

A-Tier Decks

Celebi Ex and Serperior Combo

The Mythical Island expansion boosted Grass-type decks, with Celebi Ex and Serperior at the forefront. Key cards: Snivy x2, Servine x2, Serperior x2, Celebi Ex x2, Dhelmise x2, Erika x2, Professor’s Research x2, Poke Ball x2, X Speed x2, Potion x2, Sabrina x2. Serperior's Jungle Totem doubles Grass Pokemon energy, significantly increasing Celebi Ex's damage potential through doubled coin flips. Dhelmise provides a secondary attacker. However, Fire decks can easily counter this strategy early on.

Koga Poison

This deck focuses on poisoning opponents and then unleashing devastating damage with Scolipede. Key cards: Venipede x2, Whirlipede x2, Scolipede x2, Koffing x2, Weezing x2, Tauros, Poke Ball x2, Koga x2, Sabrina, Leaf x2. Koga facilitates easy Weezing deployment, while Leaf reduces retreat costs. Tauros serves as a powerful finisher against Ex decks. This deck excels against Mewtwo Ex decks.

Mewtwo Ex/Gardevoir Combo

This deck relies on Mewtwo Ex supported by Gardevoir. Key cards: Mewtwo Ex x2, Ralts x2, Kirlia x2, Gardevoir x2, Jynx x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Poke Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Giovanni x2. The goal is to quickly evolve Ralts to Gardevoir to power up Mewtwo Ex's Psydrive. Jynx provides stalling and early-game offense.

B-Tier Decks

Charizard Ex

Charizard Ex delivers high damage but requires careful setup. Key cards: Charmander x2, Charmeleon x2, Charizard Ex x2, Moltres Ex x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Poke Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Giovanni x2. Moltres Ex aids in early energy accumulation for Charizard Ex's Inferno Dance. Successful setup leads to overwhelming damage output.

Colorless Pidgeot

This deck utilizes basic Pokemon for consistent value. Key cards: Pidgey x2, Pidgeotto x2, Pidgeot, Poke Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Red Card, Sabrina, Potion x2, Rattata x2, Raticate x2, Kangaskhan, Farfetch’d x2. Rattata/Raticate provide early damage, while Pidgeot's ability forces opponent Pokemon switches, creating disruption.

This tier list provides a current snapshot; the meta is constantly evolving.
