Palworld Mobile Version Is In The Works By The Makers Of PUBG

Krafton and Pocket Pair are joining forces to bring a mobile version of the popular monster-catching game, Palworld, to mobile devices. Krafton, known for PUBG, will leverage its expertise to adapt the core gameplay for a mobile audience through its subsidiary, PUBG Studios. This licensing agreement signifies a significant expansion of the Palworld intellectual property.

However, details regarding the mobile adaptation remain scarce. The original Palworld title launched on Xbox and Steam in January, later releasing on PlayStation 5 (excluding Japan). This exclusion is reportedly due to an ongoing legal dispute between Nintendo and Pocket Pair, concerning alleged patent infringement related to the mechanics of capturing creatures—a similarity some have likened to Pokémon, leading to the game being dubbed "Pokémon with guns." Pocket Pair denies knowledge of the specific patents in question.

Krafton's involvement is strategic, given Pocket Pair's current focus on developing the existing game. While the partnership offers exciting potential, it's likely the mobile project is still in its early stages.

Further details on the mobile version, such as whether it will be a direct port or a modified experience, are eagerly awaited. In the meantime, players can explore the game's features and gameplay via the official Steam page.
