Nintendo's innovative alarm clock, Alarmo, is slated for a broader retail launch in March 2025, as announced via their official Twitter (X) account. This expansion marks a significant step, making the device readily available to a wider audience.

Initially released with limited availability and requiring a Nintendo Online subscription, the March release removes this restriction. Alarmo will be stocked at major retailers globally, including Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized vendors. The device will retail at $99.99 USD.

The high demand for Alarmo was evident following its October 9th, 2024, launch. Sales were temporarily suspended in Japan due to overwhelming orders, shifting to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Similar high demand led to immediate sell-outs in some locations like New York City.

Alarmo's popularity underscores its unique features. The alarm clock incorporates charming sound effects and visuals from popular Nintendo franchises such as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3. Users can select from 42 game-themed scenes, with more promised via free updates.

The alarm experience is engaging: a character appears on screen, gently waking the user with sounds from their chosen scene. A "visitor" then arrives, and subtle movement dismisses the alarm, eliminating the need to physically interact with the clock. Persistent slumber brings a more insistent visitor and amplified sounds. The integrated motion sensor facilitates this hands-free operation.

Beyond its core functionality, Alarmo offers hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and sleep pattern tracking. For households with multiple sleepers or pets, a "Button Mode" is recommended.
