Nintendo Is Shutting Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp!

Nintendo's Popular Mobile Game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, is Closing its Doors

That's right, folks! Nintendo has announced the end of online services for its beloved mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. The news has taken many players by surprise, leaving them wondering what the future holds for their cozy campsites.

The Final Countdown: When is the Shutdown?

The online services for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will officially cease on November 28th, 2024. This means no more Leaf Tickets, no more Pocket Camp Club memberships (auto-renewal ends October 28th, no refunds after that date, but you'll receive a commemorative badge!), and no more interacting with the online community. Your last chance to acquire Leaf Tickets is November 26th. The final curtain call for online play is 7:00 AM PST on November 28th.

A Silver Lining: Offline Play Awaits!

While the online experience is ending, Nintendo isn't abandoning Pocket Camp entirely. They're planning a paid offline version of the game! While features like Market Boxes, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites will be absent, the core gameplay will remain. You'll retain all your saved progress and enjoy the game without an internet connection. Expect more details on this paid offline version around October 2024.

A Trend of Mobile Game Closures?

This closure follows a pattern of Nintendo phasing out mobile games. Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost have already met their end, and Mario Kart Tour is currently in maintenance mode. Therefore, the shutdown of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, while unexpected for some, isn't entirely out of character for the company.

If you want to enjoy those final days in Pocket Camp, download it now from the Google Play Store. And stay tuned for our upcoming coverage of Netflix's Monument Valley 3!
