Nintendo Delays Japanese Alarmo Release Despite Global Availability

Nintendo Alarmo Japanese Release Postponed Despite Being Available Worldwide

Nintendo has announced a postponement of the Alarmo alarm clock's general retail release in Japan due to insufficient stock. The launch, initially planned for February 2025, is now delayed indefinitely. This delay is attributed to current production and inventory challenges. The impact on international availability, currently slated for March 2025, remains unclear.

In the interim, Nintendo Japan will offer a pre-order system exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. Pre-orders are expected to open in mid-December, with shipments beginning in early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced separately.

The Alarmo, a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring music from popular Nintendo franchises (Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, RingFit Adventure, and more via updates), launched globally in October. Its unexpected popularity led to the suspension of online orders and a lottery system for online purchases. Physical stock quickly sold out at Nintendo stores in Japan and New York.

Further updates regarding pre-orders and the rescheduled general release date will be shared as they become available.
