A New Protagonist Takes Center Stage

Ninja Gaiden 4 introduces Yakumo, a young ninja from the rival Raven clan, striving to achieve Master Ninja status. PlatinumGames' Art Director, Tomoko Nishii, explains Yakumo's design as a figure who can stand alongside the legendary Ryu Hayabusa. Producer and Director Yuji Nakao clarifies the decision to introduce a new protagonist: to broaden the appeal to new players while ensuring long-time fans remain engaged through Ryu's pivotal role in the narrative.

Yakumo, the New Protagonist

Yakumo will face formidable foes, including the ultimate challenge: Ryu Hayabusa himself. Rest assured, Ryu remains playable, his presence deeply felt throughout the game.

Revamped Combat: A Fusion of Styles

Ninja Gaiden 4 retains the series' hallmark fast-paced, brutal combat, introducing the Bloodbind Ninjutsu Nue Style alongside Yakumo's Raven Style. Team Ninja's Masazaku Hirayama assures fans that while distinct, both styles maintain the core Ninja Gaiden feel. Nakao emphasizes the game's commitment to challenging gameplay while incorporating PlatinumGames' signature speed and dynamism.

New Combat Styles

The game is nearing completion (70-80% finished), currently in the polishing phase. Further details are forthcoming, and hands-on opportunities are planned.
