Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for a second Open Beta, offering a fresh chance for players to experience the game before its official launch and introducing exciting new features. Here's how to participate!

New Monster, New Hunt

Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second beta test is confirmed for the first two weeks of February. Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase gives players another opportunity to explore the game before its February 28th release. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the news via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.

The Open Beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This time around, players can hunt the Gypceros, a familiar foe from previous Monster Hunter titles—a feature absent from the first beta.

Character data from the first beta is transferable to this one, and subsequently to the full game upon release. However, progress won't carry over. As a thank you for participating, beta testers receive in-game rewards: a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy for weapons or Seikret, plus a bonus item pack to aid early gameplay.

Tsujimoto explained the decision for a second beta, stating, "We’ve heard from many of you that you missed the chance to take part in the first beta, or that you wanted to play again." While the development team is diligently working on finalizing the full game, incorporating recent community feedback, these improvements won't be included in the second beta.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Get ready to hunt!
