Monster Hunter Now Tests New Monster Outbreaks Feature

Exciting developments are unfolding in the world of Monster Hunter Now, as Niantic introduces a new feature test called Monster Outbreaks. This trial run aims to gather player feedback to refine the feature before its official release. If you're eager to dive into this new gameplay experience, here's everything you need to know about the Monster Outbreaks testing in Monster Hunter Now.

When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?

The testing phase for Monster Outbreaks is scheduled to take place over the weekend, from April 26th to 27th. Each day, the event will run twice, offering players two opportunities to participate. The first session occurs from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m., and the second session is from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., all in local time. This gives you ample opportunity to join the action.

During these outbreaks, specific locations on the map, known as outbreak points, will be teeming with 8-star Black Diablos. The objective is clear: team up with fellow hunters and take down a total of 100 Black Diablos at a single outbreak spot within the one-hour window. It's important to note that this goal is per location, not a global tally.

To participate, you must have reached at least Hunter Rank (HR) 11. Also, keep in mind that the party feature won't be available; only in-person group hunts will count towards the goal.

Outbreak points will be easily identifiable on the map with a unique icon. By tapping on these icons, you can view detailed information about the outbreak. Additionally, a sign-up roster at each location allows you to coordinate with other players and plan your hunting sessions.

The concept of the slay count adds an intriguing layer to the event. If you and three other hunters successfully take down one Black Diablos, that counts as four towards the 100 required to meet the goal. If your group manages to reach the 100-monster target before the hour ends, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the time.

Completing the challenge comes with rewards. Successfully hitting the 100-monster goal grants each participant 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Additionally, using the sign-up roster to coordinate your hunt can earn you a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
