Happy Snake Year! Metal Gear Solid's iconic voice actor, David Hayter, rings in 2025 – the Year of the Snake in the Chinese Zodiac – with a special message. This auspicious year also marks the anticipated release of a new Metal Gear title! Let's explore what's in store.

David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, shared a New Year's greeting on Bluesky, highlighting the symbolic significance of 2025. With a new Metal Gear game on the horizon, this could be a pivotal year for the legendary character. Hayter will reprise his role as Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.

Konami cleverly capitalized on this coincidence with a celebratory YouTube video. The video features a dynamic Taiko drum performance alongside a calligraphy artist creating the kanji for "snake," culminating in a bold "SNAKE YEAR" announcement – a nod to both the zodiac and Solid Snake himself.

Since its May 2024 announcement, including a trailer and Tokyo Game Show demo, updates on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater have been relatively scarce. However, producer Noriaki Okamura recently told 4Gamer that delivering a highly polished, high-quality game is a top priority for 2025 – a significant challenge they're tackling head-on.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the 2004 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, is slated for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Expect next-gen enhancements, including the return of Phantom Pain mechanics, along with new voice work and additional dialogue from the original voice cast.
