Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls – New Characters, Maps, and Game Mode Unveiled

Marvel Rivals Season 1, "Eternal Night Falls," is set to launch January 10th at 1 AM PST, bringing with it a host of exciting new content. NetEase Games recently detailed the upcoming season in a developer video blog, revealing key updates to the battle pass, maps, and gameplay.

The season kicks off with the arrival of Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and The Invisible Woman (Strategist), playable characters from the Fantastic Four. This new season will run for approximately three months, with additional characters, The Thing and Human Torch, joining the roster six to seven weeks into the season. The Baxter Building will also feature prominently in a new map.

Season 1 introduces a fresh battle pass offering 10 new skins. The pass costs 990 Lattice but offers a 600 Lattice and 600 Unit refund upon completion.

A thrilling new game mode, "Doom Match," will debut alongside three new maps:

• Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum
• Empire of the Eternal Night: Midtown (for convoy missions)
• Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park (launching in six to seven weeks)

Doom Match is described as an arcade-style mode where 8-12 players compete, with the top 50% declared victorious.

NetEase Games highlighted the importance of community feedback, acknowledging concerns about character balance (specifically, ranged characters like Hawkeye) and promising adjustments in the first half of Season 1. The team also confirmed that while a PvE mode has been rumored, it wasn't discussed in this update. Fans are eagerly anticipating the launch of Season 1.
