In the Marvel Rivals files, dataminers have found a fight with a kraken and a new mode

Data miner X0X_Leaks uncovered hints of a forthcoming PvE mode in Marvel Rivals' game files. This mode will feature a boss battle against a kraken. While the kraken model includes animations, high-resolution textures are currently absent. The dataminer showcased a size comparison using in-game parameters to illustrate the kraken's potential appearance.

Marvel Rivals also detailed its significant Spring Festival event, commencing this Thursday. This event introduces a unique three-player team-based game mode, "Clash of Dancing Lions," where players compete to score a ball into the opposing team's goal. The mode bears a striking resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball, and, indirectly, Rocket League.

This similarity is noteworthy, as Marvel Rivals seems to be vying for market share against Overwatch and requires substantial original content to establish its own identity. The choice to debut a game mode echoing an established Overwatch event is intriguing, highlighting a possible strategic divergence. The key difference lies in Marvel Rivals' pronounced Chinese cultural themes, contrasting with Overwatch's Olympic Games aesthetic.
