Mackenyu, celebrated for his portrayal of Roronoa Zoro in Netflix's "One Piece," has been announced as the Japanese and English voice actor for a significant character in Ubisoft's upcoming RPG, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Set in Feudal Japan, this latest installment introduces players to Gennojo, a character Mackenyu will bring to life.

According to Ubisoft, Gennojo plays a pivotal role, assisting the protagonist in tracking and eliminating a vital target. "Gennojo is a charming, reckless, and deeply conflicted figure, driven by guilt to dismantle a corrupt system. He’s a flirtatious rogue and a trickster, always walking the line with a mix of wit, deceit, and swagger," Ubisoft elaborates. "Motivated by a deep desire to bring down a corrupt system, Gennojo is willing to risk everything, even his own life, to achieve his goal. Despite his rough exterior, he holds a strong sense of justice, especially when it comes to helping the poor and elderly."

While the exact timing of Gennojo's introduction in the game remains undisclosed, it's clear that he will be integral to the game's missions. Mackenyu shared that Gennojo is part of the "Shinobi League," a group within the game, and players can "basically recruit" him as a companion to aid them on their journey.
