Nintendo's Latest Announcement: A LEGO Game Boy!

Get ready for some retro fun! Nintendo has just revealed its latest collaboration with LEGO: a buildable LEGO Game Boy! Launching October 2025, this follows the successful LEGO NES release.

While exciting news for both LEGO and Nintendo enthusiasts, the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) has sparked a flurry of speculation about the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2. Many users jokingly interpreted the Game Boy announcement as a substitute for the Switch 2 reveal.

Although details regarding the Switch 2 remain scarce, Nintendo President Furukawa confirmed in May 2024 that an announcement about the Switch successor would be made within the current fiscal year (ending March). Patience is key!

Pricing for the LEGO Game Boy hasn't been disclosed yet, but Nintendo promises further details in the coming weeks and months.

Previous Nintendo & LEGO Collaborations

This isn't Nintendo's first foray into the LEGO world. Previous collaborations have brought iconic characters from beloved franchises like Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda (TLZ) to life in brick form.

In May 2024, LEGO released a stunning 2,500-piece Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 set, featuring characters from Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, priced at $299.99 USD.

Following closely, a Super Mario World LEGO set featuring Mario riding Yoshi (with a crank-activated moving leg!) was released two months later for $129.99 USD.
