Founded by former employees of renowned studios such as ZA/UM, Rockstar Games, and Bungie, Longdue Games has unveiled the first glimpse into the game's intricate mechanics, positioning Hopetown as a spiritual successor to the acclaimed Disco Elysium. The game's storyline follows a journalist who wakes up in a mining town after a night of excessive drinking, grappling with a severe hangover. Players are tasked with unraveling the events of the previous night while navigating an escalating local conflict, with choices to either soothe tensions or stoke the flames.
