Hatsune Miku Collab Coming to Fortnite?

The Fortnite Festival seemingly confirms a collaboration with Hatsune Miku, generating significant excitement among fans. Leaks point towards Miku's arrival on January 14th, featuring two skins and new music tracks. This collaboration is a significant event, given the Fortnite social media team's usual reticence regarding unconfirmed content.

The apparent confirmation comes via an exchange between the Fortnite Festival Twitter account and Hatsune Miku's official account (managed by Crypton Future Media). Miku's account playfully reported a missing backpack, to which Fortnite Festival responded, hinting they had it "backstage." This subtle interaction, atypical of the Festival's usual cryptic communication style, strongly suggests Miku's imminent appearance.

Reliable Fortnite leakers, such as ShiinaBR, predict a January 14th launch, aligning with the next anticipated game update. This launch is expected to include two Miku skins: a standard version featuring her classic attire (presumably included with the Fortnite Festival Pass) and a "Neko Hatsune Miku" variant (available separately in the Item Shop). The origin of the Neko design—whether a Fortnite original or based on existing Miku iterations—remains unconfirmed.

The collaboration is also rumored to introduce several songs, including "Miku" by Anamanguchi and "Daisy 2.0 Feat. Hatsune Miku" by Ashniiko. This collaboration could significantly boost the Fortnite Festival's popularity. While a popular addition to the Fortnite ecosystem since 2023, the Festival hasn't yet reached the same level of hype as the core Battle Royale mode, Rocket Racing, or LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. The hope is that collaborations with prominent figures like Snoop Dogg and now Hatsune Miku will help elevate the Festival to the same level of enduring popularity as classic rhythm games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
