Fixes to matchmaking and anti-cheat: Apex Legends devs shared future plans

Respawn Entertainment has unveiled exciting updates for Apex Legends, focusing on fair play and improved matchmaking. The upcoming changes address player behavior and the matchmaking system itself.

Matchmaking will see significant improvements, including the introduction of visible skill ratings in non-ranked matches to provide more transparency. Expect adjustments to queue times to reduce wait times for players. Respawn is also actively addressing concerns regarding score calculations and limitations on pre-made squads in ranked matches.

On the anti-cheat front, Respawn is aggressively tackling team collusion, already seeing a reduction thanks to newly implemented algorithms. A penalty notification system is in development to keep players informed of actions taken against reported accounts. Furthermore, the fight against bots continues with the development of a sophisticated machine learning model designed not only to detect bots but also to proactively prevent their creation and proliferation.

Respawn Entertainment remains committed to open communication with the Apex Legends community. Their ultimate goal is to maintain a fun and competitive environment while upholding the game's integrity.
