According to Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy, Disney is quietly developing a secret Star Wars horror project.

The creative force behind the latest critically acclaimed entry in the galaxy far, far away discussed Lucasfilm's behind-the-scenes developments in a recent interview with Business Insider. When questioned about how he might approach a more sinister Star Wars story, he hinted that the concept is something Disney is already pursuing.

“They're doing that. I think they're doing that,” Gilroy remarked regarding the Star Wars horror project. “I think that's in the works, yes.”

“With the right creator, the right moment, and the right atmosphere…anything is possible,” Gilroy added, reflecting on his experience with Andor. “My hope is that our show resonates, allowing us to pass on the same support we received from 'The Mandalorian' and provide a healthy tailwind for another creator to do something equally compelling.”
