Dead by Daylight is Officially Adding Lara Croft

Tomb Raider's iconic heroine, Lara Croft, is officially joining the Dead by Daylight roster, Behaviour Interactive has confirmed. This highly anticipated addition follows recent chapters featuring Vecna (Stranger Things), Chucky (Child's Play), and Alan Wake. The collaboration brings one of gaming's most enduring heroines into the Entity's Realm.

Dead by Daylight: Lara Croft launches on July 16th across all platforms, with early access for PC players via a Steam public test build. While an official release date is set, a gameplay trailer showcasing Lara's unique skills and perks remains unreleased, offering PC players a first look at her in-game performance. Behaviour Interactive describes Lara as "the ultimate survivor," a fitting title given her history of navigating perilous adventures. Her in-game model will be based on the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot trilogy.

Lara Croft's Arrival and Dead by Daylight's 8th Anniversary Celebration

The announcement coincided with Dead by Daylight's 8th-anniversary livestream, revealing several exciting updates: a new 2v8 game mode pitting two Killers against eight Survivors; a collaboration with Supermassive Games featuring Frank Stone; and a forthcoming Castlevania chapter.

The timing is notable, given the recent release of Aspyr's Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered collection and the PS5 port of Tomb Raider: Legend (though the latter's quality has received mixed reviews). Adding to the Lara Croft resurgence is the upcoming animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, slated for October 2024, with Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter in the MCU) voicing the lead.
