Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details about their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a revolutionary governance system specifically designed for nomadic gameplay. A new in-game currency, "herd," will directly influence a ruler's power and authority. This "herd" currency will impact numerous aspects of gameplay, affecting military strength, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other crucial elements.

The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant movement, and the expansion reflects this. A ruler's migratory patterns will be affected by several factors, requiring them to either negotiate with settled populations or forcibly displace them.

Furthermore, players will manage transportable yurts, similar to the adventurer system. These yurts can be upgraded with various components, each offering unique advantages.
