Console Cheaters Face Bans in Marvel Rivals

NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. This is due to the unfair advantage provided by increased control precision and aiming assistance retention.

NetEase employs sophisticated detection technology to identify adapter usage with high accuracy. Accounts using these adapters will be subject to immediate bans. The company stated that such devices create an uneven playing field, particularly in competitive modes.

Separately, a correlation has been observed between higher FPS and increased ping in Marvel Rivals. While less noticeable at lower pings, a jump to 150ms from a baseline of 90ms can significantly impact gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with finding an optimal FPS/ping balance, with some suggesting maintaining an FPS around 90 as a temporary solution.
