No More Collecting Stage Girls! Revue Starlight Re LIVE Announces Its EOS

Revue Starlight Re LIVE: Curtain Call on September 30th

The mobile game, Revue Starlight Re LIVE, based on the popular anime series, is officially shutting down its servers on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC. This marks the end of a nearly six-year run on Android.

Reasons for Closure: A Decline in Performance

While not entirely unexpected, the announcement of Revue Starlight Re LIVE's end-of-service (EOS) is attributed to several factors. Over its lifespan, the game struggled with player retention, exhibiting signs of stagnation including repetitive events, reused assets, and an abundance of costly battle passes. Furthermore, narrative inconsistencies, such as abrupt plot shifts, negatively impacted player engagement. The shutdown affects the global player base, including Japan.

Positive Aspects: A Farewell to the Soundtrack and Visuals

Despite its shortcomings, Revue Starlight Re LIVE boasted a strong soundtrack featuring music from the anime, along with impressive 3D graphics and Live2D animations.

A Final Curtain Call: August and September Events

Although the game's lifespan is nearing its end, players still have a few weeks to enjoy remaining content. Developers are launching several farewell events throughout August and September. These include a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free daily pulls and a two-month birthday celebration featuring two "New Stage Girl Gacha" events. Download the game from the Google Play Store to participate in these final events.
