Call of Duty: Warzone Experiencing Lobby Crashing Issue

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

The Problem: Players reported widespread game freezes and crashes while loading into matches, leading to frustration and unwarranted penalties, including Skill Rating (SR) deductions and temporary match bans. This issue emerged despite a major game update earlier in 2025.

The Developer Response: Raven Software acknowledged the problem on January 6th and, by January 9th, announced a temporary measure. Skill Rating penalties and timeouts are now suspended for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses player concerns regarding unfair penalties caused by the unavoidable glitch. Penalties will still apply for players leaving mid-match.

Current Status: The underlying bug causing the loading screen crashes remains unfixed. While the temporary penalty suspension offers some relief, players await a permanent solution. The ongoing issue highlights the persistent challenges faced by developers in maintaining a stable and fair gaming experience, particularly within the competitive Ranked mode. The situation underscores the ongoing need for robust bug fixing and patching within the Call of Duty: Warzone ecosystem.
