Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Developer Working on New Feature to Track Challenges

Treyarch is developing a highly anticipated in-game challenge tracker for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This feature, absent from the initial release despite its presence in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, is currently under development. While a release date remains unannounced, its arrival is expected soon, potentially coinciding with the upcoming Season 2 content drop later this month.

A recent January 9th update addressed various bug fixes across Multiplayer and Zombies modes, including UI and audio improvements, and a Multiplayer XP boost for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies change from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode following player feedback.

Challenge Tracking Feature Confirmed

Treyarch confirmed the challenge tracker's development via Twitter, responding directly to a player request. The feature's absence was a point of frustration for many players, particularly those pursuing Mastery camos. The anticipated functionality mirrors Modern Warfare 3's system, providing real-time challenge progress updates within the game's UI.

Additional Improvements on the Horizon

Beyond the challenge tracker, Treyarch also confirmed work on a separate HUD setting for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, addressing another player concern. This would eliminate the need to constantly adjust HUD preferences when switching between game modes. Both features are actively under development, promising a more streamlined and enjoyable experience for Black Ops 6 players.
