Author:Kristen Update:Feb 11,2025

Crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3! Patch 8, slated for release in 2025, will introduce this highly anticipated feature, uniting PC and console players. But you don't have to wait for the full release – you can participate in the Patch 8 Stress Test!

When Can I Play Baldur's Gate 3 Crossplay?

While a firm release date for Patch 8 is still pending, a Stress Test is scheduled for January 2025. This test will allow select players to experience crossplay and other Patch 8 features early. This early access helps Larian Studios identify and fix bugs before the wider launch.

How to Join the Patch 8 Stress Test

Ready to be among the first to try crossplay? Sign up for the Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 Stress Test via Larian's registration form. You'll need a Larian account – create one or log in if you already have one. The registration process is quick and easy, simply providing basic information, including your preferred platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).

Keep in mind that registration doesn't guarantee selection. Those chosen will receive an email with further instructions. Selected participants will provide feedback through forms and Discord.

The Stress Test is also crucial for mod compatibility. Mod users and developers are encouraged to participate to ensure smooth functionality after the official Patch 8 launch.

Important Note: For crossplay to work, all players in your group must be part of the Stress Test. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for the full release.

The addition of crossplay will undoubtedly enhance the already vibrant Baldur's Gate 3 community, bringing together even more players to explore the captivating world of Faerûn.
