"It's about providing players with constant opportunities to express and explore their character's alignment," Patel explains. She further notes that Avowed encourages players to reflect on their engagement with the game, asking themselves questions like, "What excites me? What piques my curiosity? When does my interest flag? What keeps me invested moment to moment?"

Patel adds that the choices and consequences in Avowed are intricately tied to exploration within the rich world of Eora, specifically the politically charged region of The Living Lands. "I've enjoyed weaving together the narratives of these two interconnected worlds," she comments.

Players assume the role of an Aedyran Empire envoy tasked with investigating a spiritual plague while simultaneously advancing their political ambitions. "Meaningful roleplay comes from giving players something to truly delve into," Patel explains. "It's about defining who you want to be in this world and how the game's situations allow you to express that identity."
