Clear Fault Codes and Check DPF in BMW Vehicles

bimmer-tool enables users to read and clear fault codes, initiate DPF regeneration, monitor engine live data, and perform various other functions in BMW vehicles.

Compatibility Notes

For vehicles manufactured before model year 2008, application functionality is limited. A K+DCAN USB cable connection is strongly recommended. Wireless ELM adapter connections may not be available or may offer reduced functionality for pre-2008 models.

Connection Guide

1. Connect adapter to OBD-II port
2. Turn ignition ON (no need to start engine)
3. Establish connection:
   • USB: Connect via OTG cable (select bimmer-tool when prompted)
   • Bluetooth: Pair device (PIN typically 0000/1234)
   • WiFi: Disable mobile data and connect to adapter's network
4. Launch app > Select vehicle model/year
5. Configure connection settings (type/adapter/protocol)
6. Tap "Connect"

Troubleshooting

• 2007 and older models: May require ATWM setting in advanced options
• Connection issues: Force-stop all diagnostic apps or restart device

Note: For pre-2008 models and E46/E39/E83/E53 series, K+DCAN cable connection is mandatory with only engine ECU support available.
