Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!
Love Sudoku? Battle of Sudoku lets you test your skills against other players or teams! The goal remains the classic Sudoku challenge: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each row, column, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.
Before starting, choose a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This sets the initial numbers on the grid, which all players must solve simultaneously. Everyone begins with the same puzzle.
Game Modes:
- Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Each correctly placed number is visible to all players, earning you points. You can't place a number already used by another player. Speed and accuracy are key!
- Hidden Correct Numbers: Only your own progress is visible. Multiple players can earn points for the same correct number.
Time-Outs: Incorrect entries result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable), preventing further actions while others continue.
Scoring: Correct numbers earn points based on difficulty level (higher level = more points per correct number). Incorrect entries cost you half the points you would have gained.
Winning: The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. In "Hidden Correct Numbers" mode, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, though this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win by making fewer mistakes.
Team Play: Team up! Two teams compete against each other. Join a team (1 or 2), and minimum two players per team are needed to start. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/colors are shared within the team for collaborative solving.

A toolbar provides helpful tools:
- Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares as potential candidates. Clicking a number already present removes it.
- Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares.
