NetEase Games has confirmed a robust post-launch plan for Marvel Rivals, promising a new hero every six weeks. Creative director Guangyun Chen revealed in a Metro interview that each three-month season will be divided into two halves, each introducing a new playable character. This commitment to regular content updates also includes new seasonal stories and maps. Chen emphasized the goal of continuously enhancing the player experience and maintaining community excitement.

Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls showcased this strategy, launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second. While the initial roster boasts popular characters like Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, and Storm, the challenge lies in maintaining this high standard of character introductions over numerous seasons.

Speculation for future heroes is rife, with rumors suggesting Blade's appearance in Season 2 and fan hopes focused on characters like Daredevil and other X-Men. NetEase's commitment to regular updates extends beyond new heroes, encompassing balance changes and gameplay adjustments, as seen in Season 1. The game's success, as evidenced by its positive reception, fuels the studio's ambitious plans.
