"Deadlock Update: Calico Nerfed, Sinclair Reworked"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 05,2025

Valve keeps the surprises coming with their ongoing updates for Deadlock, and the latest patch, though small, made significant changes to four heroes. Calico faced a hefty nerf: her Return to Shadows ability saw a ten-second increase in cooldown time, and 20% of her speed was shifted to T2. Additionally, the damage output from T2 Leaping Slash was dialed back, making her less dominant in battles.

Sinclair, on the other hand, received a facelift with updated sounds and animations, and his Rabbit Hex now boasts an Area of Effect (AoE) capability, potentially shifting his role within team strategies. Meanwhile, both Holliday and Wraith also felt the nerf hammer, adjusting their impact on the game.

The update wasn't just about heroes; items took a hit too. Ammo Scavenger now provides fewer stacks and no longer offers a health bonus, diminishing its utility. Both Extra Stamina and Restorative Shot lost their respective bonuses to Fire Rate and Weapon Damage, which could change how players approach combat and survival in Deadlock.

This marks the fifth update for Deadlock in 2025 and the first for February. Valve has shifted their development approach, moving away from a fixed patch schedule to a more dynamic release pattern. Updates are now rolled out as needed, ensuring that changes and improvements are timely and relevant, as evidenced by today's patch.
