Atari has secured rights to five largely dormant franchises from developer-publisher Ubisoft: Child of Eden, Cold Fear, Grow Home, Grow Up, and I Am Alive.

The publisher plans to "revitalize iconic titles, deploying them on fresh platforms within updated publishing models." All five games will be issued under Atari's direct label and launched across "new gaming systems."

"Millions of gamers have explored these worlds over the years. This move allows veterans to relive cherished memories while introducing new audiences to these experiences," stated Deborah Papiernik, Ubisoft’s Vice President of New Business.

"Atari boasts a rich gaming heritage and holds these classic games in high regard. We are eager to see how they will evolve and engage players in innovative and meaningful ways."

This marks the second major strategic deal for Ubisoft this year. In March, Ubisoft launched a dedicated subsidiary focused on its Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six IP, backed by a €1.16 billion (approximately $1.25 billion) investment from Chinese tech giant Tencent.

The publisher has also teamed up with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund to produce extra content for Assassin's Creed Mirage.

These deals come after a series of major setbacks, including staff reductions, studio shutdowns, and canceled projects leading up to the launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows. Success was crucial for Ubisoft, which saw its stock price drop to an all-time low.
