Square Enix a confirmé à nouveau les détails sur Kingdom Hearts 4 dans une récente mise à jour sur les réseaux sociaux, présentant des images qui lèvent toute incertitude.

Le développeur a récemment annoncé l'annulation de Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, son action-RPG mobile utilisant la technologie GPS. Cependant, Square Enix a rassuré les fans en affirmant que le développement de Kingdom Hearts 4 se poursuivait à plein régime.

"Notre équipe reste profondément engagée dans le développement de Kingdom Hearts 4," indique le premier message accompagné de captures d'écran. Ceci constitue la première mise à jour substantielle depuis le bref teaser de janvier, suite à la révélation initiale du jeu en septembre 2022 avec une bande-annonce cinématique, avant un long silence de Square Enix.

Le directeur de la série, Tetsuya Nomura, avait précédemment indiqué que Kingdom Hearts 4 ferait progresser le récit vers sa conclusion après 22 ans et 18 jeux.

Concernant l'annulation de Missing-Link, Square Enix a présenté ses excuses aux fans impatients, expliquant que cette décision découlait des difficultés à garantir la qualité de service à long terme que les joueurs méritent.
