Michelle Trachtenberg, connue pour ses rôles dans "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" et "Gossip Girl", est décédée à l'âge de 39 ans, comme l'a rapporté le poste.

Selon des sources policières, sa mort n'est pas considérée comme suspecte. ABC News a rapporté que Trachtenberg avait été retrouvée décédée par sa mère mercredi dans son appartement de New York près de Columbus Circle. Il a été noté que Trachtenberg avait récemment subi une greffe du foie et aurait pu faire face à des complications liées à la procédure.

ABC News a en outre déclaré que la mort de Trachtenberg serait provenant de causes naturelles, et aucun jeu déloyal n'est suspecté. Une autopsie a été prévue pour déterminer officiellement la cause et la manière de son décès.

La carrière de Trachtenberg a commencé à l'âge de neuf ans dans l'émission de Nickelodeon des années 1990 "The Adventures of Pete et Pete". Elle a fait ses débuts au cinéma en 1996 avec "Harriet the Spy". Elle a été célèbre pour son rôle de Dawn Summers, la sœur cadette du personnage de Sarah Michelle Gellar, Buffy, dans le drame de l'adolescent "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" de 2000 à 2003. Elle a également joué le rôle de "Eurotrip" de Casey Carlyle dans le Drama de l'adolescent 2005 "Ice Princess".

Au cours des dernières années, Trachtenberg a dépeint Georgina Sparks dans la série dramatique américaine pour les adolescents "Gossip Girl", qui a été diffusée de 2007 à 2012. Elle a repris ce rôle dans la deuxième saison de la série Sequel Standalone de HBO Max.
