La franchise Star Trek ramène le célèbre Capitaine James T. Kirk interprété par William Shatner dans une nouvelle série de comics passionnante intitulée Star Trek : The Last Starship. Développant une intrigue introduite dans Star Trek : Discovery, cette série suit Kirk alors qu'il prend le commandement durant le moment le plus critique de la Fédération.

Une Galaxie en Crise

Se déroulant après l'événement catastrophique connu sous le nom de The Burn – qui a détruit tous les noyaux de distorsion actifs de la galaxie et coûté des billions de vies – The Last Starship montre une Fédération en ruines. Alors que la civilisation interstellaire sombre dans l'anarchie, un Kirk mystérieusement rajeuni doit former un nouvel équipage pour préserver les idéaux de Starfleet.

L'Équipe Créative

La série est écrite par Collin Kelly et Jackson Lanzing (dernièrement responsables du crossover Star Trek : Lore War) avec les illustrations d'Adrián Bonilla, illustrateur vétéran de Star Trek. L'équipe créative inclut la coloriste Heather Moore (Doctor Strange), ainsi que des couvertures variantes par Francesco Francavilla, Skylar Patridge, Michael Cho et Malachi Ward.

Bien que cela marque un nouveau chapitre dans l'histoire mouvementée des retours de Kirk – après le film Star Trek Generations de 1994 et les romans du "Shatnerverse" – The Last Starship présente la version jeune du personnage telle qu'il apparaissait dans la série originale.

"Nous redéfinissons Star Trek pour une nouvelle ère", explique Lanzing. "The Last Starship offre une vision littéraire et intense de l'effondrement de la Fédération à travers les illustrations d'Adrián Bonilla inspirées du noir. Les fans apprécieront d'explorer une partie inédite de l'histoire de Trek, tandis que les nouveaux venus pourront découvrir un chef-d'œuvre de science-fiction autonome."
