Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems: Your Real-Time Glucose Companion

The Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro CGM systems provide continuous glucose monitoring, eliminating the need for finger-prick testing for diabetes management decisions (except when symptoms don't match readings).* Ideal for individuals with type 1 or type 2 diabetes (aged 2 and older), these systems offer real-time glucose readings every five minutes.

A key feature is the customizable alarm system. Receive alerts when glucose levels are too high or low, helping you proactively manage your diabetes. The Alert Schedule feature (not available on the G6 Pro) allows for personalized alert settings throughout the day, such as different parameters for work hours versus leisure time. You can select custom alert sounds, including a vibrate-only option. Crucially, the Urgent Low Alarm cannot be disabled.

The Always Sound setting (on by default) ensures you receive critical alerts even if your phone is on silent, vibrate, or Do Not Disturb. This includes Urgent Low, Low, High, Urgent Low Soon (not on G6 Pro), Rise, and Fall Rate alerts (not on G6 Pro). A home screen icon indicates the alert status. For safety, the Urgent Low Alarm and alerts for Transmitter Failure, Sensor Failure, and App Stoppage cannot be silenced.

Additional features include:

• Data Sharing: Share your glucose data in real-time with up to ten followers using the Dexcom Follow app (requires internet connection).
• Health Connect Integration: Share historical glucose data with other health apps.
• Quick Glance: View glucose data directly on your device's lock screen.
• Wear OS Integration: Receive alerts on your Wear OS smartwatch.

Fingersticks may be necessary if symptoms don't match CGM readings. Features marked with *\ are not available on the Dexcom G6 Pro System.
